FUNERAL

Last Thursday my car left this world and found her place in car heaven. Throughout her long life she proved many times she's a decent girl but her last act of heroism - saving Peter's life - placed her among the greatest cars ever.

In loving memory of my Pszczółka!!!

And some photos from the funeral:

Obama

“It don’t matter if you’re black or white.”(Michael Jackson)

The point is that someone has to be in charge or isn’t it better to say to govern? People need it; countries need it; our money needs it. That is the way the world works whether we like it or not.
Something else is bothering me, though. We buy a pig in a poke, don’t we? We know about politicians only as much as we are told. How can we make good choices on the basis of carefully prepared campaigns, flowery speeches, artificial smiles? The victory of a politician is, in fact, the success of his advisers, analysts, public relations officers, even his speech therapists and tailors. A politician is a plasticine figure, the more flexible the better.
Being aware of many marketing tricks (public relations, communication in the media, political studies, sociology in politics – I spent many painful hours studying these subjects before exams last year but I got my eyes open!), I am a kind of an extremist disbelieving that people in power have good intentions. Intentions? I even don’t believe that they know what is going on around them.
It doesn’t mean that I don’t care. I do but I’m not yet 35 and I cannot run for the presidential election. But watch me. I wish president Obama all the best but it’s me who is going to be a real wind of change.

To teach or not to teach?

My mom's a teacher. My mother-in-law is a teacher. My sister's mother-in-law is a teacher. My sister is too young to be a teacher but who knows. I have no other choice but to be a teacher.

I used to work in a pre-school for a couple of months during our first year at TTC. All kids wanted to sit as close to me as possible. Each and every 5-year-old wanted to take my hand while walking back to the classroom. All of them repeated carefully potato, tomato, cucumber, radish. We sang and played cards, painted and mimed animals. I was their favorite teacher. Even the religious instruction teacher was put out to grass. Sometimes I was tired of answering billions of questions per minute or girls forgetting to go to the toilet and leaving a wet spot on the floor. But when I started my teaching practice in junior high I realized that problems with kids grow up with kids. But I don't give up so easily and I'm sure I'll eventually work them out. As for now I prefer to be "nasza pani Justynka" and receive flowers on teacher's day. I miss you guys!

GOOD LUCK fellow teachers:)

Skierniewi(e)ce:)

There's nothing special about my hometown apart from the fact that it's my hometown. We used to be one of the famous 49 voivodeships but since the new administrative division was established Skierniewice has been a part of Lodz province because Warsaw didn't want us:( But actually we didn't want Warsaw, either.

People usually think that Skierniewice lies somewhere in Silesia and frequently misspell its name. On both of my new electronic student's IDs it's either Skierniewiece or Skierniewicze. I was promised to get a new one. And indeed I got. With another spelling mistake:)

I used to think that once I fled from Skierniewice a few years ago I would never come back there but things have changed recently and soon after graduation I want to go back to "Skierki". It may be small and boring, with only one cinema, three bus lines, no challenging work for an English teacher, yet there is something exceptional about this town, something that only a handful of people can understand. Family? Memories? Lost youth? I don't know. But I am going back. Want to join me? You are most welcome.
(Unfortunatelly, there is only one direct rail connection between Poznan and Skierniewice late at night but the railway station is worth seeing anyway:)

KETCHUP ;)

Ouch, it is so not good to be absent for such a long time. It seems that I will never catch up with everything. But being here and writing is so comforting and makes me forget about tomorrow..., so I'll stay a bit longer:)

My music

Hi everyone,

I’d like to share my musical preferences with you. First and foremost, since I became, sort of, musically conscious I’ve been delighted by ‘’Queen’’ and the marvelous voice of late Freddie Mercury. Also, apart from having the whole discography of that amazing band, I know most of the lyrics by heart. Moreover, just to your information, I’m not constrained to ‘’Queen’’ only as I admire and love to listen Tchaikovsky. In addition, I used to attend the opera just to experience his genius more actively. In order to get the idea of my preferences just have a look on the video underneath.

One of favorite numbers by “Queen” is “Innuendo”.

Don't stop me now.

Tchaikovsky -The waltz of flowers

That'd be all,
Thanks.

Hi everyone:)

Welcome to my blog. I hope you will find something interesting here.
Enjoy.
