“It don’t matter if you’re black or white.”(Michael Jackson)
The point is that someone has to be in charge or isn’t it better to say to govern? People need it; countries need it; our money needs it. That is the way the world works whether we like it or not.
Something else is bothering me, though. We buy a pig in a poke, don’t we? We know about politicians only as much as we are told. How can we make good choices on the basis of carefully prepared campaigns, flowery speeches, artificial smiles? The victory of a politician is, in fact, the success of his advisers, analysts, public relations officers, even his speech therapists and tailors. A politician is a plasticine figure, the more flexible the better.
Being aware of many marketing tricks (public relations, communication in the media, political studies, sociology in politics – I spent many painful hours studying these subjects before exams last year but I got my eyes open!), I am a kind of an extremist disbelieving that people in power have good intentions. Intentions? I even don’t believe that they know what is going on around them.
It doesn’t mean that I don’t care. I do but I’m not yet 35 and I cannot run for the presidential election. But watch me. I wish president Obama all the best but it’s me who is going to be a real wind of change.
